How we select and assess hotels
Our method for hotel identity, plant-based food evidence and whole-trip value.
Start with a useful city base
We consider the neighbourhood, arrival route, room category and meal options together. We do not use one fixed price ceiling or assume that a higher-category property cannot suit a particular trip.
Use one page for one physical hotel
Expedia and Trip.com links should refer to the same property. Branch name, address and neighbourhood matter. A provider listing is an opportunity to compare available rates, not a guarantee that every room is available on both platforms.
Keep food evidence specific
We distinguish published vegan breakfast choices from marked restaurant dishes and general dietary claims. A restaurant option does not establish breakfast availability. Vegetarian does not mean vegan, and a vegan menu does not make the entire property vegan.
Show what is known
We link the source supporting each food claim and give the checking date. Menus and policies can change, so ask the property about the dishes and arrangements available during your stay.
Do not invent a stay, score or price
Our initial hotel notes are source-based assessments. We do not create personal-stay stories, aggregate review scores or dated rate comparisons that have not been collected. Provider prices and reservation conditions are confirmed on the provider’s site.
Value means the whole stay
Room charges, breakfast, transport and cancellation conditions all affect the decision. Where a live equivalent-rate comparison is unavailable, we explain what to compare rather than claim a cheapest hotel or provider.
