London & Istanbul · Plant-based city breaks

SPEND WITH INTENTION

Build a city-break budget around the whole stay

Rooms, meals and journeys belong in the same comparison.

A city-break budget is a set of choices, rather than a universal nightly limit. Start with the days you want to have, then compare hotel bases that let you carry out those plans without paying for extras you do not need.

Put four costs on one page

The room

Total for all nights, taxes, fees and the exact cancellation terms.

The mornings

Included breakfast, an extra charge or a meal outside the hotel.

The arrival

Decide what the saving changes

A compact room may leave more money for meals and city experiences. A more expensive room may reduce travel time or include a breakfast you will enjoy. Neither is automatically the better choice. Look at the difference across all nights and decide what you receive for it.

In London, compare the different districts before treating four branches of one operator as equivalent. In Istanbul, compare a tram-connected base with the convenience of staying nearer your planned sights. Check current transport information instead of assuming a map distance is the same as an easy journey.

Keep the plant-based plan practical

If a breakfast package offers only a limited choice, it may not be useful value for you. Ask about current dishes before paying. An outside café can make sense when it fits your route, but travelling across the city just for breakfast adds another cost to the decision.

Leave room for changing plans

Compare the cancellation deadline as carefully as the price. A flexible rate can be worth its difference when plans are uncertain; a non-refundable rate may suit a firm itinerary. Record the currency and time zone used for cancellation so that the cheaper option remains a fair comparison.
